Esthetic surgery Iasi
Otoplasty
It is meant to change the appearance of a person's external ears. Otoplasty can take many forms, such as bringing the ears closer to the head (often called ear pinning ), reducing the size of very big ears, or reshaping various bends in the cartilage, reshaping the earlobes.
The scar will, most often, be either behind the ear or at the level of the ear lobe. The area behind the earlobe will not be affected, thus the patient will have no problems with wearing glasses.
The surgery will take 1-1.5 hours and is done under local anesthesia.
It is an outpatient surgery, in most cases.
Possible complications after the surgery:
Infections are highly unlikely given the treatment with antibiotics.
Hematoma is very rare and it can be removed with the first dressing.
Upon leaving the hospital, the patient will wear dressings at the ear level and an elastic band that needs to be worn at all times for 3 weeks. For the following three months the ears cannot be pulled.
