Esthetic surgery in Iasi
Lipectomy or Abdominoplasty (tummy-tuck)
This procedure removes the excess abdominal fat along with the corresponding tegument excess for obese people or for those who have lost a significant amount of weight. If applicable, during intervention, the surgeon can bring together the abdominal muscles in order to better define the waist line. The only downside is a scar at the upper part of the pubic hair line.
For better results, it is recommended that in the first part of the surgery the liposuction is done all over the surface of the abdomen and through the abdominoplasty only the excess skin is removed. In some cases, when the excess skin is abundant, repositioning of the bellybutton becomes a must.
As with the liposuction, there cannot be removed more than 6 kg of tissue without intensive care.
The surgery can take up to 4 hours and must be done under general anesthesia.
After the intervention a compressive garment is applied. A drainage tube must remain for 2-3 days and the first dressing is changed the first morning after the intervention. An IV for antibiotics and pain medication will be worn throughout the hospital stay.
The patient will continue to wear the compression garment during day and night for about 3 weeks. Starting with the 10th day, the patient will start a superficial type of massage called "lymphatic drainage", which will become more intense after the 3rd week.
Please note that because of the swelling, in the first week, it might be hard to notice any significant difference between the pre and post surgery aspect, weight, and circumference of the body. This will change within the next 3 months following the surgery. The scar itself will not present esthetic problems. After the intervention (especially if no liposuction was done), it is strongly recommended that you search counseling from a dietician for stable results.
During the following 14 days after going home the dressing will be changed 3-4 times. The first shower can take place 7-10 days after the surgery.
