Esthetic surgery Iasi
The Surgery of the Female Genital Area
This intervention can modify the form and size of the labia and/or reposition the clitoris.
The pre-operative consultation:
-the surgeon identifies the abnormalities and in consultation with the patient, the decision about the operating technique will be made.
-to avoid any complications, the patient must be taken an urine sample and a vaginal culture
-anesthesia type will be determined upon the type and size of the surgery (can be local, anesthetic infiltration, regional anesthetic, and, upon request, general anesthesia.
The operation:
-it consists of adjusting the anatomy of the genitalia into normal state (accenting the creases of the big labia, reducing the size of the hypertrophic small labia, the repositioning of the clitoris for a better contact with the penis during the sexual intercourse).
Hospitalization: one night.
Post-surgery:
The dressing is removed upon the hospital discharge and the patient is given a set of rules to follow for the local hygiene. The stitches are removed 9-14 days after the surgery. No sexual intercourse for 21 days.
Possible complications after the surgery :
Post-operative hematoma and bleeding can determine a small surgical intervention for haemostatic (local anesthesia).
Infection is prevented by running the pre-operative urine sample and vaginal culture tests, by observing strictly the administration of the recommended antibiotics both prior and post surgery, and by following the personal post-operative hygiene rules. If an infection occurs in spite of all these measures, then local care is usually sufficient.
The opening of the wound can occur with any of the above complications or after a trauma. It may be necessary to add a few more stitches under local anesthesia.
Hospitalization: 1-3 days. The stitches will be removed 14 days after surgery.
